Although iPhone, some Samsung Galaxy phones, and Garmin handhelds have GLONASS/GPS, yet there is only GPS modules available for tinkers, hobbyist, and makers. The above might be interesting for people who wish to adopt latest GLONASS/GPS or Beidou/GPS technology in projects.

Hallo,
hab' kurz reingeschnuppert.
Da wird Geld gesucht, um eine neues Venus-Modul zu produzieren.
Interessant, aber keine Ahnung, welches Risiko besteht.

Greetings,
Actually their $27K all or nothing funding goal is to see if there is sufficient interest from the maker community to use their Venus8 chip as a controller for some special applications which benefits from free GPS/GNSS. Sort of marketing campaign to understand if there is market for the product.
Likely the risk to the funders is zero, as Indiegogo fully refunds if the funding goal is not reached. From the current situation, it still has a long way to go, chance of successful funding is a bit grim.
