RTKGPS+ in German

Beitrag von Hagen.Felix » 27.09.2014 - 20:22

Hi Ronan,

Glad to meet you! :D

I'm quite sure that especially your RTKGPS+ app will significantly boost the popularity of precise GNSS for our community (scientists and hobbyists but professional users, too)!

Of course I'll do the translation.

Please tell me (by calling or mailing) how to do it ...

Cheers,
Hagen

Dear Hagen,
Thanks for your message, I've send you a private message . But for respecting the forum rules (except german), this is a short summary

I manage translations with Crowdin online service it easy is for anyone to register for free and ask me to be a translator at https://crowdin.com/project/gpsplusrtkgps/invite
I think Crowdin is simple to use, also the web site propose some automatic translated strings based on Yandex, Microsoft Translator and (my preferred) a tool they call "Global TM". "Global TM" is a set of strings from other Crowdin projects. And many strings are common in other application...

Because my natural language is french I manage the translation with it and from my experience 90% of the proposed strings are correct or need a small correction.

Next I'll build the Crowdin project and integrate it into the source tree https://github.com/eltorio/RtkGps .
I need to reduce the rhythm of Google Play release since a too often update reduce the number of user (I think frequent updates annoy users).

Automatic translation

Hi Hagen,
The differences between the two RTKGPS builds (the light version using Illarionov's code from https://github.com/illarionov/RtkGps) is that the one that it's name contains the string "fixandhold" uses as default the "fix and hold" method for the AR. The other one uses the continuous method. For the RTKGPS+ build I used the code from https://github.com/eltorio/RtkGps.
All I had to do is to add a line code to the RTKLIB\src\rtkcmn.c file. The older builds don't work since the first of july.
Cheers,
Dinu

https://www.optimalsystem.de/os/apps/rt ... -07-05.zip

Meinerseits hier noch die Anmerkung dazu, dass (wie üblich bei L1-RTK mit normalen Basislinien) wohl die "other one uses the continuous method" verwendet werden sollte. :wink:

Und (last but not least): ich selbst habe eigentlich gar keine Ahnung von Android, und ehrlich gesagt auch kein Interesse daran ... :roll:

Viele Grüße,
Hagen

Super, dankeschön! :)

Wann kommt die nächste aktualisierung ? :mrgreen: :wink:

So, gerade mal ausprobiert.

(RTK+)

Hi,
I hope you can read English because I don't speak German.
I downloaded the RTKGPS+ with patch 11 and it works great so far.
I use it with two L1 GNSS Sokkia receivers with Novatel OEMV boards.
However I have a problem. I use the mock location option in order to send the position to other apps.
The problem is that it sends only the location (lat,lon,Elevation) without any other info like Fixed or float solution, number of sattelites, accuracy, pdop values.
Can anyone with programming knowledge build the same version but with these options enabled in mock location output?
Thanks in advance.

is it an Android-Problem ?
Otherwise, lets make a new topic.

Yes it is problem with android app RTKGPS+
I need to use mock locations in order to use other app as GIS data collector but I must see not only the position but also the accuracy and the fixed-float solution.
This has to do with both apps but the RTKGPS+ at first should output this info and then the other app must read this info.

In this case, the Android location API is no solution for you.

As any modern location API (like similar on iOS and Windows), it's providing only rudimentary meta resp. quality data.

I would recommend to use a different GIS data collector (which should be able to get any of the other RTKGPS+ output ports) and/or to log directly with the RTKNAVI engine in RTKGPS+ ...

Maybe interesting: http://www.catb.org/gpsd/faq.html#android

Thanks for the reply.
My field is surveying so I have to use a data collector like Carlson SurvCE or Microsurvey FieldGenius.
These s/w work with survey grade gps receivers and with NMEA external or internal receivers in PDA with Windows Mobile (WinCE) OS.
I managed to connect the three devices (ext. gps, android phone, winCE pda) this way:
External GPS (bluetooth) --> Android phone with RTKGPS+(enabled mock location) --> Android App "Bluetooth GPS" reads the output from RTKGPS+ using mock location --> Then "Bluetooth GPS" creates a SPP Bluetooth profile to the Windows Mobile PDA and use the phone (the RTKGPS+ output) with virtual COM port that sends onlythe Lat,Lon,Altitude to the Windows CE software.
The Windows Mobile PDA "sees" the android phone like a NMEA external receiver but it can read only the Lat,Lon,Elev from the RTKGPS+. In my field (surveying) it is essential to see in the data collector if the solution is fixed or float and the accuracy otherwise it is unusable.
I would be great if a data collector android app existed for the field of surveying and be able to get the output from RTKGPS+ without the mock location limitations but unfortunately it does not exist. All the data collector android apps are for GIS with very limited options for RTK surveying.
So the RTKGPS+ can output this extra info (a developer send me the code but i don't have compiler and programmer knowledge to make it).
Below is the section of code that sends data to the mock location provider. That should cover what other data is available.

Location mockLocation = new Location(providerName);
mockLocation.setLatitude(lat);
mockLocation.setLongitude(lon);
mockLocation.setAltitude(elev); //in meters
mockLocation.setSpeed(speed * 0.514444F); //from knots to meters/second
mockLocation.setBearing(bearing); //in degrees
mockLocation.setAccuracy(accuracy); //in meters
mockLocation.setTime(System.currentTimeMillis());

Bundle extras = new Bundle();
extras.putInt("satellites", SatsTracked);
extras.putFloat("mslHeight", elev);
extras.putString("diffID", CorrectionStationID);
extras.putString("utcTime", RawGpsTime);
extras.putString("hdop", HDOP);
if (VDOP.length() > 1) extras.putString("vdop", VDOP);
if (PDOP.length() > 1) extras.putString("pdop", PDOP);
extras.putString("mockProvider", "xxxxxxxxxxxxxx");
extras.putFloat("undulation", Undulation); //ellipsoid - geoid
extras.putInt("diffStatus", FixType); //1=GPS, 2=DGPS, 4=RTK Fixed, 5=RTK Float
extras.putString("diffAge", CorrectionAge);
mockLocation.setExtras(extras);

LocationManager lm = (LocationManager) ctx.getSystemService(Context.LOCATION_SERVICE);
lm.setTestProviderLocation(providerName, mockLocation);

If anyone can add this code to the RTKGPS+ that would be great.

I found another solution forwarding the output solution to TCP Server and then forward it to bluetooth.
So no need for mock locations anymore!
I can see all the info i need in the data collector and specially if the solution is fixed or float!
