Kundenfang der unfeinen Art

Hier passt alles rein, was sonst nirgendwo passt.

As far as I've been able to find out from anyone, what your dealer describes is not possible. In the RTK world, their are a number of industry-standard formats for which the RTK signal can be transmitted, such as CMR, CMR+, RTCM 2.3, RTCM 3.1, etc. Trimble, AutoFarm, TOPCON, Beeline, etc. can all utilize at least one these industry-standard RTK signal formats. The problem with John Deere equipment is that the Greenstar system looks for an RTK signal format that is a proprietary John Deere format, not an industry-standard format. What Leica has done with the mojoRTK to get it to work with Greenstar autosteer systems is reverse engineer the proprietary John Deere data format. By reverse engineering the proprietary John Deere data format, the mojoRTK is able to provide GPS and RTK data to the Greenstar system and the Greenstar system thinks there is a Starfire receiver on the roof.

Now, here's the big catch with the John Deere receivers; they are actually a NavCom receiver, a subsidiary of John Deere. NavCom-branded receivers can utilize the industry-standard RTK formats. It is when the receiver gets painted green'n'yellow that those abilities are locked out, and only proprietary John Deere RTK formats are accepted.

Your comment about being forced to use the GS2 with your Deere sprayer is interesting. I know that at least in Iowa, one of the big reasons why Deere has not been able to topple the commercial application market is because so many retailers have their system built around Raven Vipers and Viper PROs. Deere's excuse for forcing you to use the GS2 in their sprayers is because it "allows easier integration of new, future technologies."
